STORM REUNION

The stage is black, all lights are off, there is electricity in the air, the crowd is ready for what they know is about to happen…wait for it, wait for it…an explosion of music and lighting you'd expect from Nugent! But who is it
…STORM.

That's right for any of you who saw the boys, (Jeff Calhoun and Eddie Buerger) rocking all through central and southern Wisconsin in the 80's and 90’s you know exactly what I am talking about. These boys where using Pyro (safely) way before Great White burned that bar down in Rhonde Island.

A much anticipated and wanted reunion show with Jeff and Eddie founders of STORM will take place at the Coral Lanes Bowling Center- 1025 E Grand Ave. Schofield WI at 9pm (support band to be announced at a later time) There will be a cover charge at the door.

A Little History:
STORM got its start in the lake area (Lake Nokomis) of Northern WI back in March 1979. Right from the beginning it was obvious this band was destine for big things.

Playing some 100+ shows a year featuring original and hard rock cover music, STORM quickly was entertaining at local venues, and performing with such acts as Skid Row, Tesla, Great White, Ratt, Cheap Trick, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, REO Speedwagon, Uriah Heep, Huey Lewis and the News, Firehouse, Jackyl, Blackberry Smoke and more!

In 1988 their self entitled single “STORM” was release. It was old school; vinyl baby!

Received with such enthusiasm “Virgin Voyage” a 5-song cassette released in the fall 1991.

Storm dis-banded in 2005 after 26 years and, at that time Jeff was the only founding member still playing, and who had always played in STORM, which kept the name alive.

NOW 2011 -
The Reunited Members of STORM:
Founder: Eddie Buerger: Lead Vocal and Bass Guitar
Founder: Jeff Calhoun: Lead Guitar and Back Up Vocal
And returning to jam: Mike “Schmitty” Schmidt: Drums and Back Up Vocal

Eddie Buerger; Lead Vocals and Base Guitar Player of STORM. Yes you heard me correctly. Eddie who we are all use to seeing behind the pigskins is playing base. This man is nothing less then a musical prodigy. To how many people could you say: “Hey Ed - Schmitty can play drums but we really need a base player” to which he responds “OK”, picks it up and well watch and see. This is true god given talent. And if that’s not enough he is lead vocals as well.

Eddie brings attitude, energy and a personality all his own to the stage. He could have been a comedian and anyone who ever saw him do a Dice Clay impression knows I am right.

With influences from the sound of James Hetfiled, (Metallica) Eddie Van Halen, (Van Halen) Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi (both Black Sabbath) Eddie makes the music his own, giving it raw power and grit.

Jeff Calhoun; Lead Guitar and back up vocals of STORM. Jeff has the perfect synchronicity between hunger, (or is it obsession) and passion. Receiving his first guitar at the age of eight, he is a self-taught musician. Jeff first learned to play country but wanting more of a challenge, he quickly became romanced by metal. Influences such as Randy Road (OZZY) and Zak Wilde (Ozzy Osbourne) have helped in shaping his raw talent into that of a master.

Jeff has enjoyed jamming with Frank Hanna (Tesla) and like Slash and Jim Page plays Gibson Les Paul’s, of which he is an avid collector.

While metal and hard rock are still the heart and soul of his musical taste, Beethoven and Bach flow effortlessly from his strings and fingers. Jeff entertains at wedding and other events performing his own unique brand of Flamingo-Acoustic finger picking.

Mark ‘Schmitty” Schmidt; Drummer and Back Up Vocals of STORM. You know Schmitty from his stint with STORM from 1991-1992 and from his days earlier with Premier. (Ah the long hair metal bands, of glam rock we loved them!) He now reunites with Jeff and Eddie to once again Rock the Northwoods.
His influences include Tommy Aldridge while he was with Ozzy, and to quote Schmitty “…just about any 80's heavy metal drummers music I could get my hands on.” Style wise he has been comparable to Aldridge and Tommy Lee. He is basically straight forward and loud!! Very loud! “I started playing in 1983 thanks in part to watching the Partidge Family and listening to my brothers' Ted Nugent and AC/DC albums.”

Now to quote Eddie from so many years ago- “Together we are STORM”. Bring you over 90 years of musical experience, and with 20,000 watts to pounding power, these boys will take you for the ride of your life and leave you wanting more.

So strap yourself in and experience the high energy Rock and Roll Thrill Show you know and love- STORM.
You have not experienced music until you have taken this ride!
